Pine Trails Park

According to the City of Parkland, Pine Trails Park has:

  • seven multipurpose fields

  • baseball and T-ball fields

  • courts

  • a fishing pier

  • trails with fitness equipment

  • a playground

  • pavilions

  • an amphitheatre that hosts a monthly concert series

That is a lot for one park. A family can play ball, walk the trail and bring a picnic in the same visit. The city's Parks and Recreation office lists a phone number on its page. Call before you go to check hours and any events.

Equestrian Center at Temple Park

Parkland has a long horse tradition. The city's Equestrian Center at Temple Park has two riding rings, open space, a pavilion, restrooms, grills and a concession area. The Parkland Horseman's Association runs it, according to the city page. The city also says a farmers' market uses the open space next door from November to April. Dates can change, so check the city's site.

Riders under 18 need a helmet, says the city. Ask the center if you have questions about using the rings.

County parks

Broward County runs a large system of regional parks. See the Broward County Parks page to find one. The county says it manages more than 50. Each park has its own hours and rules.

Loxahatchee Road starts at US 441 in Parkland and runs northwest. At its far end, it reaches the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. If you like nature, that is a trip to consider. Check conditions and hours before you head out.

Shopping and groceries

Daily errands matter more than most buyers expect. Publix has a store at Parkland Commons on University Drive. See the Publix store page for current hours. Other shopping is around too. Visit the area at the time of day you would shop, and see how it feels.

For health care, Broward Health Coral Springs is one hospital in the region. See its location page. We list it as a place to look up, not as a recommendation.

Places to eat

Here are two restaurants with their own websites. Restaurants change owners and hours, so confirm before you go.

  • Bluefin serves sushi, Thai dishes and dim sum.

  • Sushiato is a sushi spot on University Drive.

If you want more ideas, try a few local restaurants on a weekend before you buy. It is a good way to learn the area.

A simple weekend in Parkland

Here is how a weekend might look:

  1. Saturday morning. Walk the trails or watch a game at Pine Trails Park.

  2. Saturday afternoon. Shop for groceries, then try a local restaurant for dinner.

  3. Sunday. Visit the Equestrian Center, or check the city's calendar for an event.

Try the same weekend before you buy. You will learn more in a day than from any list.

What it means for Parkland Royale

Parkland Royale is a gated community. The builder lists a clubhouse, a pool, a fitness center, a splash park, a park and lakes as planned amenities. It has not published opening dates. Because of that, you may spend time at the city parks while you wait for the community's own amenities. Call 561-704-0091 for the current status.

Tips for a park visit

  • Call first. Hours and events change. The city lists a phone number for Parks and Recreation on its pages.

  • Bring water. South Florida weather can be hot. Take breaks in the shade.

  • Check the weather. Storms can roll in fast in summer. Have a plan to get indoors.

  • Ask about rules. Each park has its own rules, like when pets are allowed and when helmets are needed.

  • Go at different times. A park on a Saturday morning feels different from a weekday evening.

Questions to ask about the parks

If you are choosing a home, ask yourself:

  1. Do I want parks close to home, or is a clubhouse enough?

  2. Do my kids play sports? Which fields do they need?

  3. Will I use the trails for walks or runs?

  4. Do I want a horse-friendly part of town?

  5. Which parks will I use most, and how will I get there?

Write down the answers. They help you pick a place that matches your life.

A word about the community's own spaces

Parkland Royale's planned park and lakes are part of the community. We do not have details beyond what the builder lists, so we do not describe their size or features. Ask the sales team for the site plan and the current status of each one. The map of the community can show you where the shared spaces sit in relation to the homesite you like.

Why we do not list every park

Parkland and Broward County have more parks than one guide can cover. We chose the ones with pages we could confirm. The city and county sites list more. Use them to find parks for your own hobbies, like tennis, fishing or hiking. If you have a favorite activity, tell us, and we will help you check what is nearby.

Make it a habit

The best way to learn a place is to use it. If you tour Parkland Royale on a Saturday, plan to walk one park the same day. Take a short list of what you want to see, and notice who else is there. Are families out? Are the fields busy? Does it feel like a place you would use every week? Those small signs tell you more than any list of features.
