Toptracer Range at Glynlea: How the Over-Water Driving Range Works

In this article
A Toptracer range is a driving range where cameras track every ball you hit and show the flight on a screen in your bay. At Glynlea Country Club in Port St. Lucie, the range has a twist: you hit out over water. Lennar calls it the ""Toptracer Aqua Range,"" and it sits next to an 18-hole course designed by Jim Furyk. Here is how it works and what it means if you are thinking about buying a home here.
What Is a Toptracer Range?
Toptracer is ball-tracking technology for driving ranges. Toptracer's own site says more than 1,200 golf facilities around the world use it. A normal range just shows you where the ball lands, if you can see it. A Toptracer bay shows the whole flight of the shot on a screen.
At Glynlea, the club's own site says: ""Every shot is tracked with PGA Tour-level accuracy, providing instant feedback on distance, ball speed, launch angle, and shot shape.""
In plain words, after each swing you can see:
How far the ball went.
How fast it came off the club.
How high it launched.
Which way it curved.

Why Over Water Is Different
Most ranges are grass fields. Glynlea's range targets sit out on the water. Lennar describes it as ""a unique over-water driving range experience.""
The club's site explains the appeal: ""Hitting over water adds an element of precision and mental focus that traditional ranges simply can't match.""
The developer's news post about the November 2025 grand opening called it ""the nation's first Toptracer Aquatic Driving Range."" That is the developer's claim. We have not checked every range in the country, so treat it as their description.
Games, Not Just Practice
You do not have to be a serious golfer to have fun at a Toptracer bay. The club's site lists options like these: ""Play virtual rounds at famous courses, compete in closest-to-the-pin challenges, or enjoy group games.""
That makes the range useful for:
New golfers who want to see what their swing is doing.
Families who want a game everyone can play.
Friends who want something social on a weeknight.
Serious players who want numbers to work on.
The Course Next Door
The range sits beside Glynlea's 18-hole course. Lennar's words: ""Designed by Jim Furyk, this 18-hole golf course offers challenging plays against a beautiful backdrop.""
A few more details from the club and developer:
The developer says Furyk designed the course together with architect Michael Beebe.
The developer's August 2026 article says the routing has ""five par 3s and five par 5s.""
The club's site says the club is ""managed by the renowned Hampton Golf.""
The club's site lists a golf shop, a short game area and a putting green, and takes tee-time reservations online.
How the Course Is Meant to Play
The developer's August 2026 article quotes Furyk on his goal for the course: ""It doesn't have to be 7,400 yards long."" He added, ""We want some wide fairways. I want folks to be able to bounce the ball into greens and play the ball on the ground.""
In plain words, the course is meant to be fun for newer golfers and still a test for good ones. The same article says multiple tee positions change the angles golfers face, not just the distance.
The article also says the team tried to route holes along wetlands and preserved natural areas, and that ""Very few stretches place homes on both sides of a hole."" If you are choosing a homesite near the course, ask to see exactly which holes and natural areas sit behind it.

What It Means for Homeowners
Living next to a range like this is a lifestyle choice. A few honest points:
Ask how access works. A golf club has its own rules, memberships and fees. Those are separate from your home purchase. Ask the sales team and the club to explain them in writing before you sign.
Look at the homesite map. Some homesites face the course or water. Others do not. If being near the range matters, find out where your homesite sits.
Visit at different times. See the range and course in the morning and in the evening, so you know what a normal day looks and sounds like.

Tips for Your First Toptracer Session
Book or ask first. Check how the range takes reservations and who can use it.
Start with a wedge. Warm up with short shots before you pull out a driver.
Watch the launch angle. It tells you a lot about your contact.
Try a game. Closest-to-the-pin is easy for beginners and fun for groups.
Bring water and a hat. Florida sun on the water is bright.

Is a Range Next Door Right for You?
A range near home can be a big plus or something you never use. Think about your real week:
You practice often. A range inside your own neighborhood makes a short evening session easy.
You are learning. Seeing the numbers after each shot helps you understand your swing faster than guessing.
You host friends. A range with games gives guests something to do that is not only dinner.
You do not golf at all. Then the range is scenery. Weigh the homesite and the home first.
Questions to Ask the Club
Who can use the Toptracer range, and how is it booked?
Is range use part of a membership, or paid separately?
Are there lessons or clinics for new golfers?
What are the range hours?
Is there a junior program?
Write down the answers. Rules can change, and your contract should match what you were told.
