Wylder in Port St. Lucie is the large master plan that Glynlea Country Club sits inside. Knowing how Wylder works helps you picture daily life at Glynlea: where the parks and trails are, how school assignment works in St. Lucie County, and what the neighborhood itself offers. Here is the plain version.

What Is Wylder, Port St. Lucie?

Wylder is a master-planned community on the west side of Port St. Lucie. The developer, GreenPointe, describes it as ""a 1,970-acre master-planned community"" located ""between Midway Road and Glades Cut Off Road in Port St. Lucie.""

A master plan is a big piece of land planned as one place, with several neighborhoods, roads, parks and trails laid out together. Inside Wylder, different builders sell different neighborhoods. Glynlea Country Club is the golf neighborhood. GreenPointe's own news page also names Brystol North, with homes by Dream Finders Homes and Lennar, and the Waverly townhomes.

Daily Life Inside Glynlea

Lennar lists these amenities for Glynlea Country Club:

  • Gated entry. Lennar: ""Residents will enjoy the privacy of living in a gated community.""

  • Golf. An 18-hole course designed by Jim Furyk and a Toptracer range over the water.

  • Pool. Lennar mentions a ""resort-style swimming pool"" and ""lap lanes.""

  • Clubhouse and golf shop. Lennar notes casual dining and gatherings at the clubhouse.

  • Tennis and pickleball courts.

  • Fitness center and sport court.

Lennar's longer description also mentions ""al fresco meals and drinks at the onsite bar and grill."" The club's own developer news names the Tee Box Grille as an on-site dining option.

Amenity details and hours can change. Ask the sales team for the current amenity list and any club rules before you sign. For a closer look at the range, read how the Toptracer range at Glynlea works.

Parks and Trails in Wylder

GreenPointe's November 2025 news post says Glynlea residents ""also benefit from access to Wylder's master-planned amenities, including miles of walking trails, lakeside recreation, and the expansive 113-acre Wylder Park.""

That is the developer's description. Before you count on any park or trail, ask which parts are finished and open today.

Outside Wylder, the City of Port St. Lucie runs many parks with playgrounds, dog parks and courts. See our list of family parks across Port St. Lucie.

Lennar also points to Clover Park, which it calls ""the home of the St. Lucie Mets and the spring training home of the New York Mets.""

How Schools Work in St. Lucie County

This part surprises many people who move here. St. Lucie Public Schools does not use simple neighborhood schools for every grade. The district's Student Assignment page says: ""The district offers regional school zones rather than neighborhood schools.""

Here is how the district explains it:

  • Elementary and middle schools are split into three zones. The district says ""Midway Road and Florida's Turnpike are the dividing lines.""

  • Green Zone: north of Midway Road.

  • Blue Zone: south of Midway Road and east of Florida's Turnpike.

  • Red Zone: south of Midway Road and west of Florida's Turnpike.

  • Preference can go to families with a sibling at the school or who live within two miles of it.

  • High school students are assigned to a zone school based on ZIP code, the district says.

Families apply for a school in their zone. We do not tell you which zone or school a home falls in, because only the district can say that. Check the exact address on the district's Student Assignment page and its school locator map. For a step-by-step walk-through of the same lookup, see how to check St. Lucie County schools for an address.

Errands and Shopping

Glynlea is in a newer part of the city, so plan on driving for most errands. Our Port St. Lucie shopping guide covers centers such as The Landing at Tradition and the Plaza at St. Lucie West, with the roads that reach them.

We never quote drive times. Map your own trips to work, the grocery store and the doctor at the times you would really drive them.

Healthcare and Everyday Services

When GreenPointe announced Wylder, it said the master plan offers ""a wide array of nearby services including Cleveland Clinic Health Centers, top schools and universities, sports and recreation, business centers, and endless shopping and dining."" That is the developer's own description. Before you buy, look up your own doctors, the closest urgent care and the closest emergency room on a map, and check which ones take your insurance.

A good habit for any new area: save three addresses in your phone on day one. Your nearest emergency room, your nearest pharmacy and your nearest 24-hour store.

Storm Season Planning

Every Florida home faces hurricane season. Daily life here includes a simple storm plan. The Florida Division of Emergency Management's plan and prepare pages include a ""Know Your Zone, Know Your Home"" section, plus guides for shelters, pets and evacuation plans.

Three things to do in your first month:

  1. Look up your evacuation zone for the exact address.

  2. Make a short list of supplies and where you will keep them.

  3. Ask the builder what the home's windows and doors are rated for. Lennar's Pinehurst list names ""Impact Low E Windows."" The Twin Homes and Augusta list does not mention windows, so ask in writing.

Golf Neighborhood Life Versus Master-Plan Life

It helps to separate two things:

  • Glynlea is the golf neighborhood. Its amenities, like the course, range, courts and clubhouse, come with their own club and rules.

  • Wylder is the larger master plan around it, with the parks and trails the developer describes.

Ask two sets of questions: what comes with the Glynlea home, and what comes with living in Wylder. Get both answers in writing.

Who Daily Life at Wylder Suits

Wylder and Glynlea tend to suit buyers in these situations:

  • You want a golf neighborhood with a gate.

  • You like newer homes and newer streets.

  • You are fine driving for most errands.

It may suit you less if you want to walk to shops, or if you want an older neighborhood with big trees and mature yards.

Getting Around Wylder

The developer says Wylder has access to I-95 and Florida's Turnpike. Our map of Port St. Lucie around Glynlea names the main roads so you can plan your own routes.
