Garage vs. No Garage: A Real Choice in Florida City
This is where a one-car garage becomes a real decision, not just a number.
Palm Cay is another D.R. Horton Express Series townhome community in Florida City, and it has recently started at a similar price, in the low $370,000s. But its floor plans list no garage. Instead, D.R. Horton describes parking spaces in front of each home.
Hadley Place gives you a one-car garage on both plans. That means covered parking, a lockable storage room and a place to keep the car out of the summer sun and the rain.
Neither choice is wrong. If you have two cars and value outdoor parking spots, Palm Cay may suit you. If you want a garage for one car and storage, Hadley Place does something Palm Cay does not. Walk both before you decide.
One-Car Garage vs. Two-Car Garage
Angi puts two-car garage widths between 20 and 24 feet, roughly double a one-car garage. That extra width costs money to build and needs a wider lot. That is why townhomes in this price range usually come with one car space inside, or none.
If you need a two-car garage, you will usually be looking at single-family homes, which cost more. For example, D.R. Horton's Parker Pointe in Homestead offers two-car garages only on some of its single-family plans, which have recently started far higher than Hadley Place.
