State Road 7 is the main north-south road on the western edge of central Palm Beach County, and Amara by DiVosta sits on its west side, south of Hypoluxo Road. Along this stretch, State Road 7 and US 441 are the same road. From Amara, the big east-west roads you will use most are Hypoluxo Road, Boynton Beach Boulevard, Lantana Road and Lake Worth Road. Florida's Turnpike has interchanges at Boynton Beach Boulevard (Exit 86) and Lake Worth Road (Exit 93). Here is how the roads fit together, with no guessed drive times.

State Road 7 and US 441: One Road, Two Names

In southern Palm Beach County, US 441 and State Road 7 share the same pavement. That is why you will see both names on signs and maps. Route listings show that US 441 leaves State Road 7 at Southern Boulevard in Royal Palm Beach and turns west. North of Southern Boulevard, the road keeps the State Road 7 name alone up to Okeechobee Boulevard.

So near Amara, ""441"" and ""State Road 7"" mean the same thing. Your address may use either one in directions.

The East-West Roads That Cross State Road 7

Going from north to south, these are the main roads that cross State Road 7 in this part of the county:

  1. Okeechobee Boulevard

  2. Southern Boulevard, where US 441 turns west

  3. Forest Hill Boulevard in Wellington

  4. Lake Worth Road

  5. Lantana Road

  6. Hypoluxo Road, just north of Amara

  7. Boynton Beach Boulevard

  8. Atlantic Avenue

That order comes from published route listings and local reports. The Florida Department of Transportation, for example, has run road work on State Road 7 between Atlantic Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard.

For Amara, Hypoluxo Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard are the two closest big crossroads. Most daily trips will start on one of them.

Florida's Turnpike From Amara

Florida's Turnpike is a toll road that runs north and south through the county. These are the Turnpike interchanges in central Palm Beach County, from Florida's Turnpike's own notices:

Boynton Beach Boulevard (Exit 86) and Lake Worth Road (Exit 93) are both on roads that cross State Road 7 near Amara. Palm Beach County's road project list also shows the Turnpike crossing Lantana Road and Hypoluxo Road. Check a current map before you count on getting on or off there. Florida's Turnpike's own closure notices treat Boynton Beach Boulevard and Lake Worth Road as neighboring exits, so plan to get on at one of those two.

I-95 From Amara

Interstate 95 runs north and south closer to the coast. To reach it from Amara, take an east-west road across. The Florida Department of Transportation's I-95 exit list shows these exits in this part of the county:

Lyons Road: The Parallel Road

When State Road 7 is busy, many drivers use Lyons Road. Palm Beach County's road project list shows Lyons Road running north and south through Boynton Beach Boulevard, Hypoluxo Road and Lantana Road. When the sheriff's office closed part of State Road 7 between Hypoluxo Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard after a crash, it pointed drivers to Lyons Road as the way around.

The Airport Has a New Name

The airport most people still call ""PBI"" has a new official name. Palm Beach International Airport became President Donald J. Trump International Airport on July 9, 2026, and its airport code changed to DJT on August 18, 2026. The address is 1000 James L. Turnage Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33406.

The airport's directions page says you can reach it from I-95 at Exit 69, or from Florida's Turnpike at Exit 97 (Southern Boulevard) heading south or Exit 99 (Okeechobee Boulevard) heading north.

  • I-95 and the coast are a cross-county drive. Hypoluxo Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard both reach I-95.

Test Your Routes Before You Buy

Before you choose a home anywhere in Palm Beach County, drive the trips you will make most. Here is a simple plan for Amara.

  1. Your work trip. Drive it on a weekday at your real start time.

  2. Your grocery trip. Try Hypoluxo Road one day and Boynton Beach Boulevard another.

  3. Your Turnpike trip. Get on at Exit 86 one time and Exit 93 the next, and see which one fits your trip better.

  4. Your airport trip. If you travel often, drive to the airport once so you know the way.

  5. Your weekend trip. Wellington, the beach or the refuge, whichever you expect to visit most.

Write down what you notice: lights, turns, school zones and busy shopping centers. This takes a few hours, and it can save you years of a commute you do not like.
