How School Zones Work in St. Lucie County
Lucie Public Schools does not use the usual neighborhood school system. Its Student Assignment office says the district ""offers regional school zones rather than neighborhood schools.""
For elementary and middle school, the district uses three zones, with Midway Road and Florida's Turnpike as the dividing lines:
Zone | Where it is, per the district |
|---|---|
Green Zone | North of Midway Road |
Blue Zone | South of Midway Road and east of Florida's Turnpike |
Red Zone | South of Midway Road and west of Florida's Turnpike |
Families apply for a school within their regional zone, and the district says preference can go to families with a sibling at the school or who live within two miles of it. High school placement is based on ZIP code, according to the district.
We will not tell you which school a Brystol address goes to, because only the district can confirm that. Check the exact address on the St. Lucie Public Schools Student Assignment page or the district's online school locator. Our guide to checking St. Lucie County schools walks through the steps.
