What Is a Paver Driveway?

A paver driveway is made of many small, solid blocks set side by side, instead of one big slab of poured concrete. The pieces fit together in a pattern. Brick pavers are a common type.

Why do people like them? Three simple reasons:

• Looks. A pattern of blocks gives the front of the house more texture than a plain slab.

• Matching. At Sunstone, Lennar uses pavers for the walkway, entry and patio too, so the outside spaces match.

• Spot fixes. Because the driveway is made of separate pieces, a damaged section can often be lifted and reset without redoing the whole thing. Ask the sales team what the builder recommends for care.

How the Plans Change the Paver Areas

Because the paver line says "per plan," the size of your driveway, walk and patio depends on the home. The floor plans show the patio area clearly. For example, the Sapphire and Quartz floor plans each label an 8' x 3' patio area, and the Lumio shows a 6' x 5' patio area. The Amber plan labels a patio without a size. The Lennar Warranty

Lennar's own warranty page describes a 1-2-10 limited warranty:

• 1 year for workmanship

• 2 years for mechanical and systems: electrical, plumbing and mechanical

• 10 years for structural, covering load-bearing elements

How Buying at Sunstone Works

Lennar lays out its buying steps in five stages:

1. Find your home. Pick a plan and a homesite with a Lennar consultant.

2. Pricing and choices. Review what is included and any design choices.

3. Financing and title. Lennar Mortgage and Lennar Title are offered, but Lennar says using them is not required.

4. Construction. The home is built, with updates along the way.

5. Orientation and move-in. A construction manager walks you through the home's systems before closing.

What "Pre-Wired" and "Per Plan" Mean on the List

Two phrases on the features list are easy to misread.

"Pre-wired for ceiling fan." Lennar lists pre-wiring for ceiling fans in the family or great room and all bedrooms. Pre-wiring means the wiring is in place for a fan. The list does not say the fans themselves are included, so ask before you plan your budget.

"Per plan." Several items carry this note, including the pavers, the shower glass and the secondary bathtub. It means the item depends on the floor plan you choose. Ask the sales team to show you exactly how each item appears in your plan.

Your Smart Home on Day One

Lennar says its construction manager walks buyers through a New Home Orientation before closing, including the home's smart home features. At Sunstone, that covers the Ring video doorbell, the Schlage smart deadbolt and keypad, and the WiFi thermostat. Bring your phone to the orientation so you can set up the apps while someone is there to help.

A Final Walkthrough Checklist for Included Items

Use this list at your final walkthrough:

• Open and close every impact window and sliding glass door.

• Run the washer, dryer, dishwasher and disposal.

• Test the garage door opener from the wall button and the app.

• Walk the paver driveway, walkway and patio for loose pieces.

• Turn on every recessed light and check each switch.

• Run the irrigation system and look for dry spots.

Write down anything that does not work and give the list to Lennar in writing.
