Lake Worth Road is the road named in descriptions of Canter's site. The community sits near the corner of Lake Worth Road and 120th Avenue South in Wellington, according to a November 2024 Town-Crier report. From there, Lake Worth Road runs east to State Road 7, Florida's Turnpike at Exit 93, and on through Greenacres, Palm Springs and Lake Worth Beach to the ocean. It has no I-95 exit of its own, so you reach I-95 by way of a crossing road. Here is the road, piece by piece, with no drive-time guesses.

Lake Worth Road in One Minute

Much of Lake Worth Road is part of State Road 802. Wikipedia's page on the road says, ""The majority of SR 802 is known locally as Lake Worth Road."" Here are the basic facts from that page:

  • Length of the state road: 10.313 miles.

  • West end of the state road: ""an intersection with U.S. Route 441 (US 441) and SR 7 near Wellington.""

  • East end: an intersection with Ocean Boulevard (SR A1A) in Lake Worth Beach.

  • County: ""The entire route is in Palm Beach County.""

The part near Canter is west of State Road 7. Wikipedia says, ""West of US 441–SR 7, Lake Worth Road continues another 3.6 miles (5.8 km) to its terminus, an intersection with South Shore Drive in Wellington."" So the stretch at 120th Avenue South still carries the name Lake Worth Road, but it is not part of State Road 802.

For the floor plans, see the Canter location and plans page.

The Crossroads, West to East

Wikipedia lists these main junctions on State Road 802, starting at its west end:

Crossroad

What the junction list says

US 441 / State Road 7

""Wellington""

Florida's Turnpike, Exit 93

""Orlando, Miami""

Jog Road

Listed as a junction

Military Trail (SR 809)

Where the road leaves Greenacres and enters Palm Springs

Congress Avenue (SR 807)

Florida's Turnpike: Exit 93

The Turnpike interchange on Lake Worth Road is Exit 93. A Florida's Turnpike construction alert names it as ""Lake Worth Road/SR 802 (Exit 93)."" Wikipedia's road page agrees.

The junction list signs the Turnpike toward ""Orlando, Miami."" Check the Turnpike's own site for tolls and any lane closures before a trip. For how the nearby Turnpike exits connect to other roads in this part of the county, see our guide to Lyons Road and its Turnpike exits.

I-95: No Direct Exit

Lake Worth Road does not have its own I-95 interchange. Wikipedia's I-95 exit list shows Exit 63 at 6th Avenue South and Exit 64 at 10th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach, but no Lake Worth Road exit.

To reach I-95 from Lake Worth Road, the road's junction list points to three routes:

  1. Congress Avenue north to I-95 north.

  2. A Street to I-95.

  3. US 1 (Dixie Highway) to I-95.

Plan your route with a map app, since the best choice depends on where you are headed.

Through Greenacres, Palm Springs and Lake Worth Beach

Wikipedia describes the trip east in a few short steps:

  • After the Turnpike, ""SR 802 becomes more commercial as it enters Greenacres.""

  • ""At the intersection with SR 809 (Military Trail), it leaves Greenacres and enters Palm Springs.""

  • It reaches ""downtown Lake Worth Beach, crossing US 1, followed by SR 5.""

  • Near the coast, ""the road becomes a two way pair with Lake Avenue going eastbound and Lucerne Avenue going westbound, separated by a block.""

  • It ends ""on the barrier island at SR A1A, less than a block away from the ocean.""

So Lake Worth Road connects Canter's area all the way to the beach, passing through Greenacres, Palm Springs and downtown Lake Worth Beach on the way.

Road Work at 120th Avenue South

The corner named in Canter's location has a project of its own. In a March 18, 2026 report, WFLX said, ""Wellington residents have raised safety concerns about the intersection of 120th Avenue and Lake Worth Road for years."" The station reported that the Village of Wellington plans a roundabout there. It said, ""The project is now expected to begin between May and June, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2027."" It added that ""the roundabout's larger diameter will accommodate trucks and horse trailers.""

We could not confirm whether work has started. Check the Village of Wellington's road project updates, or read the WFLX roundabout report, before you plan around it.

Bus, Train and Airport

  • Bus: Palm Tran lists ""Route 62 - Lake Worth Rd."" Schedules are on the Palm Tran bus routes page.

  • Train: Tri-Rail's Lake Worth Beach Station is at 1703 Lake Worth Road, Lake Worth Beach. Tri-Rail lists Palm Tran routes 61 and 62 there. See the Lake Worth Beach Station page.

  • Airport: Palm Beach County's airport now has a new name and code. The airport's site calls it President Donald J. Trump International Airport, at 1000 James L. Turnage Blvd., West Palm Beach. WFLX reported that the name took effect July 9, 2026, and the airport code changed from PBI to DJT on August 18, 2026. Details are on the airport's about page.

Five Road Checks Before You Choose a Homesite

  1. Time your own commute twice. Once at rush hour and once on a weekend, from 4199 Sunset Pasture Drive to where you go most.

  2. Try the I-95 routes. Since there is no Lake Worth Road exit, test Congress Avenue, A Street and US 1 to see which suits your trips.

  3. Look at the 120th Avenue corner. If the roundabout work is under way, ask whether construction affects access to Canter during your build.

  4. Note the Turnpike ramps. Exit 93 is the Turnpike interchange on Lake Worth Road.

  5. Check transit if you need it. Look up Route 62 times on Palm Tran's site and see how it links to the Tri-Rail station.
