Frameless shower doors are heavy glass panels held by hinges and clips, with no metal frame around the edges. Framed doors have a metal track around the glass. At Glynlea Country Club, Lennar lists a frameless shower enclosure in the owner's bath of the four Pinehurst homes and a framed enclosure in the primary bath of the Twin Homes and Augusta homes. Here is what that difference means for cleaning, looks and daily use.

What Lennar Lists at Glynlea

Lennar's Glynlea feature lists split the showers by collection.

Pinehurst homes (Hartford, Daisy, Tulip, Periwinkle):

  • ""Frameless Shower enclosure, Owners Bath""

  • ""12x24 wall tile with 2x2 floor tile in showers""

  • ""Luxury raised vanity height""

Twin Homes and Augusta homes (Azalea, Alexia, Hailey, Victoria):

  • ""Framed shower enclosure in the primary bath""

  • ""4"" x 16"" subway tile shower walls""

Both lists include quartz countertops with integrated sinks, full-width 42-inch-high mirrors and elongated comfort-height toilets.

Frameless Shower Doors vs Framed: The Basic Difference

Frameless shower doors:

  • Use thicker glass that can stand on its own.

  • Have no metal track around the edges, only hinges and small clips.

  • Look open and clean, so the tile wall shows through.

Framed shower doors:

  • Use thinner glass held inside a metal frame.

  • Have a track along the bottom and sides.

  • Are a common, practical choice in many new homes.

Both keep water in the shower. The difference is mostly looks, cleaning and feel.

Cleaning: The Biggest Daily Difference

This is where buyers notice the change most.

  • Frameless glass has fewer places for soap and water to sit. You still need to squeegee the glass to keep spots away, but there is no bottom track to scrub.

  • Framed glass has a metal track where water and soap can collect. A small brush and a quick wipe each week keep it clean.

Either way, a squeegee after each shower is the easiest habit for clear glass.

Looks and Light

A frameless door lets more light through and shows off the tile. In the Pinehurst homes, Lennar lists large 12-by-24-inch wall tiles with small 2-by-2 floor tiles. Large wall tiles mean fewer grout lines. Small floor tiles give your feet more grip.

In the Augusta and Twin Homes, Lennar lists 4-by-16-inch subway tile on the shower walls. Subway tile is a classic look that many buyers like.

How Lennar Describes Each Owner's Bath

Lennar's room walkthroughs, in its own words:

  • Azalea (Twin Homes): ""A glass-enclosed shower adds to the spa-like atmosphere."" Lennar also mentions ""a spacious dual-sink vanity featuring a full wall-width mirror.""

  • Victoria (Augusta): ""The oversized glass-enclosed shower features full tile surround and designer fixtures."" Lennar adds a ""dual-sink vanity and a separate commode area.""

  • Hartford (Pinehurst): ""A glass-enclosed shower with a tile surround and floor offers daily escapes."" Lennar mentions ""a vanity with dual sinks and a full-width mirror.""

  • Daisy (Pinehurst): Lennar mentions ""Split vanities in the owner's bathroom"" and ""a glass-enclosed shower with a subway tile surround.""

  • Periwinkle (Pinehurst): ""Double sinks and a glass-enclosed shower support hassle-free routines in the en-suite bathroom.""

One note: the Daisy walkthrough mentions subway tile, while the Pinehurst feature list names 12x24 wall tile. Photos can show a model with different finishes. Ask the sales team which tile your home will get, and get it in writing.

The Rest of the Bathroom, Side by Side

Here is how the two Glynlea feature lists describe the other bath items, in Lennar's wording:

A raised vanity simply sits a bit higher than a standard one, so taller people bend less at the sink. Ask how high the vanity is in the Augusta and Twin Homes, since that list does not say.

Caring for Shower Glass

A few easy habits keep either kind of door looking new:

  1. Squeegee after each shower. Ten seconds saves a weekly scrub.

  2. Crack the door open. Let the shower dry out between uses.

  3. Use a gentle cleaner. Harsh scrub pads can scratch glass and metal.

  4. Check the caulk once a year. A small gap at the base lets water sneak behind the tile.

  5. Run the bath fan. Steam that leaves the room cannot leave spots.

The Other Bathrooms

The owner's bath is not the only one. A few things Lennar notes:

  • Azalea: Bathroom 2 has ""a combination shower and tub.""

  • Alexia: Bathroom 2 ""features dual sinks and a walk-in shower.""

  • Daisy: Bedroom 2 has an en-suite bath that ""includes a shower-tub combination.""

  • Periwinkle: Bedroom 4 has an attached bath with ""a glass-enclosed shower.""

If you bathe small children, a tub in a secondary bath matters. If you host older guests, a walk-in shower may matter more.

Who Each Shower Suits

Frameless (Pinehurst) may suit you if:

  • You want the most open, modern look.

  • You do not want to scrub a metal track.

  • You want large wall tiles with fewer grout lines.

Framed (Augusta and Twin Homes) may suit you if:

  • You are fine with a classic look.

  • You want the lower starting price of the Augusta or Twin Homes.

  • You plan to change the bathroom later anyway.

The showers are one of several things that differ between the two feature lists. The kitchens do too. See how the Glynlea kitchens differ, and get the full list in what Lennar includes in its Glynlea homes.

Check the Shower Before Closing

Glass and tile are easy to check, and easy to miss. During your walkthrough:

  1. Open and close the shower door several times. It should swing smooth and stay put.

  2. Look for chips on the glass edges.

  3. Run the water and check that it stays inside the shower.

  4. Look at the grout and caulk lines for gaps.

  5. Check that the floor drains well.

Our blue tape walkthrough checklist goes room by room. Lennar lists a ""1-2-10 Home Buyers Warranty."" For what those numbers often mean, read our 1-2-10 warranty explainer, then ask Lennar for its own warranty document.

Lennar places several owner's suites, like the Alexia, Hailey and Daisy, in a rear corner of the home. To see what is out there in each plan, read which plans have a lanai and which have a patio.
