Lennar lists Del Mar as ""Miami, FL 33034."" That is the mailing name Lennar uses.
The county records say something more exact. We looked up three Del Mar homesites in the Miami-Dade Property Appraiser's records. All three are listed as ""Unincorporated County,"" and the neighborhood is labeled ""Florida City.""
What that means for you. Del Mar is in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, in the area the county calls Florida City. It is not inside the city limits of Florida City or Homestead.
Why does it matter? Some services, such as police and some permits, come from the county instead of a city. Ask the sales team which services come from Miami-Dade County, and check your tax bill estimate with that in mind.

Del Mar makes the most sense for a few kinds of buyers:
You want three bedrooms in a brand-new home. Every Horizon plan has three bedrooms, and you get a new build with a builder warranty instead of someone else's repairs.

So Del Mar has recently started roughly fifty thousand dollars lower, while Palm Cay offers a four-bedroom plan. Palm Cay's amenities, as D.R. Horton lists them, are a pool, cabana, dog park, tot lot and a lake trail with fitness equipment. Del Mar's are the gated entry and the lakefront clubhouse.
The honest advice is to tour both. The same budget can buy a very different home depending on the plan and the builder, and you will only feel the difference by walking through.
