The Roads That Matter

Here are the real, permanent roads you will use most.

I-95

I-95 runs through Pompano Beach. The city's visitor site lists exits at Cypress Creek Road (exit 33), Atlantic Boulevard (exit 36) and Copans Road (exit 38). Sample Road (exit 39) is also on I-95 in this area. I-95 is also the road toward Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the closest large airport per the visitor site.

Florida's Turnpike

The Turnpike serves Pompano Beach from the west. The visitor site lists Atlantic Boulevard (exit 66) and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Hammondville Road (exit 67).

Atlantic Boulevard

Atlantic Boulevard runs east and west across the city. I-95 has an exit at Atlantic Boulevard, Old Town is on West Atlantic Boulevard, and the road runs east toward the pier.

Federal Highway (US 1)

Federal Highway runs north and south through the city. It is where you find Pompano Citi Centre, an open-air shopping center at 1955 N Federal Highway.

Dixie Highway and MLK Boulevard

Both cross downtown. The city's downtown site lists Atlantic Boulevard, Dixie Highway and MLK Boulevard as key downtown streets.

Start at the library or the Cultural Center and look at what is on.
Walk over to BaCA and see the current exhibit.

Trains and Airports

Tri-Rail

The visitor site says Pompano Beach is between the Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale Brightline stops. That means there is no Brightline stop in the city itself, at least per that page. Check Brightline's own site for the latest.

Airports

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is the closest big airport, reached by I-95. Palm Beach International and Miami International are the other two the visitor site lists. Private planes can land at Pompano Beach Air Park.
