Pepperwood is on Florida's Treasure Coast, in Martin County, with an address on SE Cove Road in Stuart. If you are new to the area, two questions come up fast: what is the Treasure Coast, and which roads will I use every day? This guide answers both with named roads and map facts. It does not give drive times, because those change with traffic and the hour.

What Treasure Coast Florida Means

Treasure Coast is a regional name for part of Florida's Atlantic coast. Lennar puts Pepperwood in its Treasure Coast area. You can see it in the builder's page title: ""Pepperwood New Home Community - Stuart - Treasure Coast, FL.""

The name is used in more than one way. The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council, a regional government group, says its region ""consists of four counties."" Those are:

  • Indian River County

  • St. Lucie County

  • Martin County

  • Palm Beach County

The council says the region has ""a total shoreline of 110 miles – from Boca Raton in the south stretching northwards to the Sebastian Inlet.""

When someone says ""Treasure Coast,"" ask which counties they mean.

Here is how big the three counties north of Palm Beach County are, per the U.S. Census Bureau's 2024 estimates:

County

2024 population estimate

St. Lucie County

390,670

Indian River County

172,139

Martin County

165,666

Martin County, where Pepperwood sits, is the smallest of the three by people.

Pepperwood's Home Street: SE Cove Road

Lennar and our database both list Pepperwood at 1233 SE Cove Road, Stuart, FL 34997.

Inside the community, Lennar's home listings use street names like SE Mandy Place and SE Martin Cove Place. OpenStreetMap also shows SE Pepperwood Drive and SE Helmsman Court at the community. Lennar lists its Welcome Home Center at 6931 SE Helmsman Ct, by appointment only.

Your mailing address will say Stuart. But the Census Bureau's address tool places Pepperwood in unincorporated Martin County, outside the City of Stuart limits. Our Martin County FL guide for Pepperwood buyers explains what that means.

The Roads Around Pepperwood

Here are the named roads near the community, based on OpenStreetMap data we saved on October 23, 2026. Check them on your own map app before you plan a trip.

South Kanner Highway (to the west)

OpenStreetMap shows South Kanner Highway running just west of the Pepperwood homes. OpenStreetMap tags it as State Road 76 and classes it as an ""Urban Principal Arterial,"" which is map talk for a major road.

SE Federal Highway / US-1 (to the east)

Head east on SE Cove Road and you reach SE Federal Highway. OpenStreetMap shows the two roads meeting east of the community. OpenStreetMap tags SE Federal Highway as US 1, and gives it the same ""Urban Principal Arterial"" class as Kanner Highway.

SE Willoughby Boulevard (to the north)

OpenStreetMap shows SE Willoughby Boulevard north of the community. It runs north toward central Stuart.

SE Salerno Road (to the east)

SE Salerno Road is another east-west road on the east side, toward the Port Salerno area. Our guide to daily life around Port Salerno covers that part of the map.

I-95 and Florida's Turnpike (to the west)

Lennar's community page says I-95 and Florida's Turnpike are close by. On OpenStreetMap, both highways run west of the community. They are the main routes north and south for longer trips.

Treasure Coast Florida Places Lennar Points To

Lennar's Pepperwood page names a few places nearby. Here they are, in the builder's words:

  • Downtown Stuart: ""a riverside district on the St. Lucie River, where historic, walkable streets lead to more than 50 locally owned restaurants, shops and galleries.""

  • Stuart Riverwalk: ""a scenic boardwalk hugging the St. Lucie River."" Lennar adds that you can ""hop aboard a water taxi like the Tiki Taxi.""

  • House of Refuge: a historic landmark ""on Hutchinson Island.""

  • Beaches: Lennar names ""Stuart Beach, Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island shores.""

Business hours and boat schedules change, so confirm before you go. Our guides to getting around downtown Stuart and the beaches closest to Stuart go deeper on both.

Parks Close By

For outdoor time close to home, Halpatiokee Regional Park is south of Pepperwood on SW Lost River Road, per Martin County and OpenStreetMap. Martin County calls it the county's largest park. Read our guide to the trails and fields at Halpatiokee.

How Far Things Are, as the Crow Flies

We do not give drive times. But straight-line distance on a map is a fixed number, so here are two. We worked them out from map coordinates. Road miles will be longer.

From Pepperwood to

Straight-line distance

Halpatiokee Regional Park (map point)

about 1.4 miles

City of Stuart (Census center point)

about 5.1 miles

Use these only to get a sense of the map. For real trips, use a live map app.

The Bigger Treasure Coast Picture

The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council gives a few more facts about its four-county region. It covers ""a total of 3,589 square miles"" and ""a population of over 2 million people."" It also says ""each of the counties border the Atlantic Ocean,"" and ""two counties are bounded by Lake Okeechobee.""

Closer to home, Lennar's overview describes Stuart as ""Nestled along the St. Lucie River"" and says Stuart ""offers endless waterfront adventures."" Those are the builder's words. If water time matters to you, ask us about boat ramps, beaches and river parks near the homesite you like.

Getting Around: Simple Tips

  • Use real-time maps. Traffic on US-1 and the highways changes through the day.

  • Learn two routes. Kanner Highway on the west and Federal Highway on the east are the two big roads closest to you.

  • Plan for storms. In hurricane season, follow Martin County's official alerts for road and evacuation news on the county website.

  • Check bus service yourself. If you plan to ride public transit, check the county website for current service.

Who Pepperwood's Location Fits

The location may suit you if you:

  • Want to be close to Kanner Highway and US-1 for local trips.

  • Want the highways for trips up and down the coast.

  • Like the idea of a large county park nearby.

  • Want a Stuart mailing address with county services.

If you want to walk to downtown shops, the location may not suit you. The center point the Census Bureau uses for the City of Stuart is about five miles north of Pepperwood in a straight line. Ask us about homes closer to downtown if that matters most.
