The route is simple:

1. Leave the community on SE Central Parkway.

2. Turn onto U.S. 1 (SE Federal Highway) heading north.

3. Stay on U.S. 1 into the downtown area.

Along the way, you pass the Publix at the Downtown Stuart Shopping Center at 746 SW Federal Highway.

The Main Roads, One by One

U.S. 1 (SE Federal Highway)

This is the main north-south road through Stuart. Going north, it runs through downtown and crosses the St. Lucie River on the Roosevelt Bridge toward Jensen Beach. Going south, it heads to Port Salerno, Hobe Sound and on toward northern Palm Beach County. Most shopping and services in Stuart sit along it.

SE Monterey Road

Monterey Road runs east-west near Sailfish Cay. Monterey Medical Center is at 1050 SE Monterey Road.

Kanner Highway (State Road 76)

Kanner Highway runs southwest from Stuart. It has an interchange with I-95. It is also the road toward Halpatiokee Regional Park and the western part of the county.

Martin Highway (State Road 714)

Martin Highway runs west from the Stuart area into Palm City. It has interchanges with both I-95 and Florida's Turnpike. That makes it useful for longer trips north or south.

I-95

I-95 runs north-south just west of Stuart. It connects you south to Palm Beach County and north to Port St. Lucie. You reach it from Kanner Highway or Martin Highway.

Florida's Turnpike

The Florida's Turnpike is a toll road that runs north toward Orlando and south toward Palm Beach and beyond. From Stuart, you reach it on Martin Highway.

SE Ocean Boulevard

Air Travel

• Witham Field is Stuart's public airport, on SE Airport Road east of U.S. 1. It serves private and small planes, not airlines.

• Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach is the closest major airport with airline service. You reach it by heading south on I-95 or Florida's Turnpike.

Public Transit
