Palm Beach County School Zone Map: How to Check an Address

The only reliable way to find out which public schools serve an address in Palm Beach County is to use the school district's own tool. The Palm Beach County School District keeps a "Find My Zoned School" lookup, and it is linked from the district's school choice page. Boundaries can change, so always check the district for the exact address, and check again before you buy.

We do not say which school a Whitmore Estates home is assigned to. We also do not give school ratings. This guide shows you how to find the answer yourself, and what else to ask.

Why we do not name schools

Three reasons.

1. The district decides, not us or the builder. School zones are set by the school district. Only the district's lookup is the real answer.

2. Zones can change. A new community can bring new students, and districts sometimes redraw lines. A name we wrote today could be wrong next year.

3. A builder's page may not be right either. We never use a builder's school information as the answer. We send you to the district.

So here is the right way to do it.

How to check a school zone, step by step

  1. Get the exact address, or the lot you are looking at. A zone is tied to the address.

  2. Go to the district's school choice page. It is at the Palm Beach County School District school choice page. The "Find My Zoned School" tool is listed there.

  3. Type in the address and read the schools it lists for each grade level.

  4. Write down the date you checked. Boundaries can change, so a note helps.

  5. Call the district or the school to confirm, especially if your purchase depends on it.

For a home that is not built yet, ask your sales consultant for the address or lot, and ask the district whether the zone is final.

What else to look into

A zoned school is only part of the picture. Palm Beach County also has school choice programs. These let some families apply to schools outside their zone. Details, deadlines and rules are on the district's school choice page and its main website. They change from year to year, so read the current rules.

Here are good questions to bring to the district:

  • What are the enrollment steps for a new resident?

  • What papers will I need? Often proof of address and a birth certificate.

  • Are there magnet or choice programs that fit my child?

  • How does transportation work for my address?

  • What are the deadlines?

Questions to ask on a school visit

Bring a short list. These work at almost any school.

  • How does the school day run, from the first bell to pick-up?

  • How do you help a new student settle in?

  • What do families usually ask about most?

  • How do you talk with parents during the year?

  • What programs, clubs or sports do students use most?

  • What does the school need from families?

Write the answers down. Ask the same questions at each school you visit, so you can compare them fairly later.

If you are moving from another city or state

Ask the district what you need to enroll. Many districts ask for proof of where you live and a student's records from the last school. Ask early, because some papers take time to collect. Ask the old school to send records, and ask the new one what it needs. Do not assume your child's current grade or program carries over in the same way. Ask the district how placement works.

Visit the schools

Numbers on a screen are not the whole story. If you can, visit. See the building. Meet the people. Ask what the school is proud of and what it is working on. Talk to parents who live nearby. Your own visit teaches you more than a score ever will.

About ratings

You will see ratings on many websites. We do not repeat them. A single score hides a lot, and the sites that publish them do not always agree. If you use them, treat them as one input. Do the district lookup, make a visit and ask questions.

Questions for the builder's sales team

The sales team can help with the address, but the district has the final word. Ask them:

  • Which lot or address is mine? The zone follows the address.

  • Is the address final? Lot numbers and street names can change on a new community.

  • Has the district been told about the community? If it has not, the zone may not be set yet.

  • What is the plan for bus stops and roads inside the community?

Do not rely on a verbal answer about a school. Check the district yourself.

When to do this

Before you fall in love with a home. School zones matter for many families more than the kitchen does. Check the zone early. It takes five minutes.

If you are still choosing a plan, start with all five Whitmore Estates plans compared. For the community, read gated communities in Lake Worth, FL, and Whitmore Estates. If you are weighing how to pay for the home, see jumbo mortgage in Florida. If you are thinking about the Wellington area, see things to do in Wellington, FL. And if you are weighing new against existing homes, read new construction vs existing home in Palm Beach County.

What to do once you have the answer

Once you have the zoned schools for an address, do three things. Write down the names and the date. Look up each school on the district's own website, where you can find its address, its hours and how to reach the front office. Then plan one visit. If your child has special needs, or you want a program that is not at the zoned school, call the district early and ask what the options are, because some programs have deadlines.

Do not forget the commute to school

A school's zone matters, and so does how your child gets there. Ask the district how transportation works for your address, and plan a test run at the right time of day.

Common Questions

Which school will my child attend at Whitmore Estates?

We cannot say. The Palm Beach County School District decides this by address, and zones can change. Use the district's Find My Zoned School tool on its school choice page, and confirm with the district before you buy.

Where is the district's school lookup?

The Find My Zoned School tool is listed on the Palm Beach County School District's school choice page at palmbeachschools.org. You enter the address and it shows the zoned schools. If you cannot find it, call the district for help.

Can school zones change?

Yes. Districts can redraw lines, and new neighborhoods can change enrollment. That is why we never name a school as an assignment. Check the district's lookup, write down the date, and check again before closing.

Can my child attend a school outside the zone?

Sometimes. The district runs school choice programs, and some families can apply. Rules and deadlines change, so read the current details on the district's school choice page or call the district directly.

Do you give school ratings?

No. A single score hides a lot, and sources disagree. We suggest using the district's lookup, visiting the schools and asking questions. If you look at ratings, treat them as one input among several.

What if the home is not built yet?

Ask your sales consultant for the lot or address, then ask the district whether the zone is final for that address. Zones for new communities can be updated as the community grows, so check again before you close.
