Your Walkthrough Checklist

Before closing, you walk through the finished home. Use the included list as your checklist:

1. Turn on each burner of the range and the oven.

2. Run the dishwasher and the microwave.

3. Check that the refrigerator is cold and the ice maker works, if your model has one.

4. Run the washer and dryer.

5. Ring the doorbell and test the smart lock with the app.

6. Open and close the garage door with the motor.

7. Look at every window, tile floor and countertop for chips or cracks.

Write down anything that is not right and ask when it will be fixed. Take photos too, with the date, and keep them with your closing papers. If something shows up after you move in, the warranty booklet tells you how to report it.
