Campbell Drive Homestead: Turnpike Exit 2, Krome Avenue and the Coral Landings Corner

Campbell Drive in Homestead is the same road as SW 312th Street. Coral Landings sits on it, at the corner of SW 312th Street and SW 187th Avenue. Campbell Drive is also where Florida's Turnpike has its Exit 2. Farther east, inside the city, the same road carries an 8th Street name. Knowing these names makes maps, bus routes and city notices much easier to read.

Campbell Drive Homestead: One Road, Several Names

Some Homestead roads have both a number and a name. Krome Avenue is also SW 177th Avenue, and Campbell Drive is also SW 312th Street.

• Florida's Turnpike calls it ""Campbell Drive/SW 312 Street (Exit 2)"" on a project page.

• Miami-Dade County's bus map for Route 344 labels it ""SW 312 St / NW 8 St / Campbell Dr.""

• The City of Homestead posted a lane closure notice for ""Campbell Dr. at 3000 NE 8th St.""

So you may see SW 312th Street, Campbell Drive, NW 8th Street or NE 8th Street, depending on where you are and who made the sign. Lennar lists the Coral Landings location as ""SW 312 St & 187th Ave.""

Where Coral Landings Sits on Campbell Drive

Coral Landings is at the corner of SW 312th Street and SW 187th Avenue. Lennar files the community under Miami, with a 33030 ZIP code. We checked the map point with Miami-Dade County's municipal boundary map. The county map puts it inside the City of Homestead.

That matters for things like city notices and city services. If you buy here, sign up for City of Homestead alerts. The city posts road work notices, like the Campbell Drive lane closure notice we found on its site.

Florida's Turnpike at Campbell Drive (Exit 2)

The Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike has an interchange at Campbell Drive. The Turnpike numbers it Exit 2.

Florida's Turnpike also lists these nearby exits on the same project page:

• Exit 5: Biscayne Drive/SW 288 Street

• Exit 6: Tallahassee Road/SW 137 Avenue

The Turnpike's project page describes a widening project. It says the road ""will be widened from four to six lanes between Campbell Drive/SW 312 Street (Exit 2) and Tallahassee Road/SW 137 Avenue (Exit 6), in Miami-Dade County."" The Turnpike is a toll road. Plan for tolls in your monthly budget if you will use it often.

Krome Avenue

Krome Avenue is the other main road you will hear about in Homestead. Miami-Dade's bus map labels it ""Krome Ave / SW 177 Ave."" Coral Landings sits on SW 187th Avenue, so the two avenues have different numbers. Check a map to see how they connect to Campbell Drive.

Bus Service Near Campbell Drive

Miami-Dade County runs bus routes in Homestead. The county's map for Route 344 says it offers ""Weekday and Saturday service from Homestead to Everglades Village via Florida City."" The map says the route serves the ""MDC Homestead Campus,"" the ""SW 344 St Park and Ride"" and ""Wal Mart.""

The same map labels ""SW 312 St / NW 8 St / Campbell Dr."" Routes and stops change. Check the Miami-Dade Route 344 map and the county's transit pages for the stop nearest the community.

• Learn both names. Your map app may say SW 312th St. A road sign may say Campbell Dr.

• Leave room for summer storms. Most of Homestead's rain falls from May through October.

Because the road has more than one name, small mix-ups happen. Here is how to avoid them:

• Use the exact address on your closing papers for mail, bills and deliveries.

• Save the address in your map app the same way. Then share that pin with guests.

• Tell delivery drivers both names if a package goes missing. Saying SW 312th Street, also called Campbell Drive, helps.

• Check the county's bus map for the stop name, since it uses the street numbers.

• Sign up for city alerts so you hear about lane closures on Campbell Drive early.

Schools

We do not list school assignments for any address. Some schools in Homestead carry the Campbell Drive name. That name does not tell you which school a home is zoned for. Check the exact address with Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Living on Campbell Drive at Coral Landings

Coral Landings has five Lennar floor plans. All are two-story single-family homes:
